Muskrat Simms

Muskrat Simms, another new artist to be added to the CatErratic library completed his debut album, "Short Timer" in 2011. Part Americana, part Appalachian and part hound-dawg, "Short Timer" is a mixture of passionate country tinged ballads and rockin' fun hillbilly twang. Recorded at Green Tile Studios by Larry Levy,  the 10-track CD features Muskrat Simms on acoustic guitar and vocals. Old school recording - just a microphone and a guitar - is basically recorded live.

We got a chance to speak with Muskrat about his new album.

 "If you have a bit of hound dawg in ya, and extend your hand to meet your favorite whiskey, then by all means give me a shot. The music comes alive after a barbecue on a hot summer night. Little musical short stories about longing, regret, the trials and tribs about gettin' older - it's all there and with a sense of humor. I'm just tryin' to slow life down - damn it!"
