One Hand Strumming

One Hand Strumming was a side project for Larry Levy while he was working on The Thromboes, "She's Like A British Car."

According to Levy, "whenever I would get stuck in a part for a Thromboes song I would come up with a riff or melody that I knew I couldn't use for The Thromboes. First one song came then another so I basically stopped what I was doing and quickly recorded all these ideas and out of it came, "One Hand Strumming."

He continues, "most of the songs on the CD were created and recorded on the spot. I was experimenting with tone and the possibilities of what could be done with just one electric guitar part. The axis on which "One Hand Strumming" spins is the song, "Catherine Catherine". I recorded it in one take and added percussion immediately afterwards so I wouldn't forget. Every song that came afterwards was in the shadow of "Catherine Catherine."

Levy says that, "it was the best instrumental I ever wrote and my favorite as well. It pays tribute to Cat, the lead singer of The Histrioniks."

Here is the link to "Catherine, Catherine" as it appears on CDbaby. It is the only song on ITunes as well. The unpublished CD can be had by request.
